Experience
I hold a Master’s degree in Child and Adolescent Psychology from the University of Turku in Finland. My professional journey brought me to the United States, where I am licensed to practice in both Minnesota and California. My approach is enriched by specialized training in developmental psychology and trauma-informed care, which allows me to address a wide range of issues that young clients face.

For a while, Sami was a great help, alleviating my son's high anxiety. However, our issues were broader and deeper. Additionally, in my opinion, Sami sometimes took on more than a psychologist should: he gave advice and recommendations to both my son and me that we hadn't asked for or needed. For example, he advised my son to go outside and make friends, even though he had already told him that he had friends and didn’t want to go outside to approach unfamiliar children. The situation with my son was such that it was dangerous to let him go outside alone. Nevertheless, the psychologist insisted on this to my son and scolded me. When I asked him, "Can you guarantee that nothing will happen to my son there, knowing the risks?" Sami replied that if something did happen, I would be the one to blame. This is solely my opinion. I would rate the ethical aspect of his work as very low.

In my opinion, there is almost no result. According to the psychologist, the result is that things didn't get worse. This is a very debatable statement. It could be said about any result. For example, if things got worse, you could say that it didn't get worse than it already was—so that would also be good.
If a person goes to a psychologist, it means they are struggling, feeling uncomfortable, and they want things to get better, meaning they expect a positive outcome, not just to avoid things getting worse.
In the end, there is no result, and the problem hasn't been solved, even partially. The price, in my opinion, is inflated and does not correspond to the quality of the service.

The experience of working with the psychologist was overall positive. Sami is a kind and sensitive specialist, with whom we managed to establish contact with both the child and the parents. From the first meeting, we were able to build rapport, but despite that, there are still areas that need further work. The main issue was resolved, but we feel that some aspects could have been addressed more deeply. Overall, the specialist is good, but we expected more. We recommend.

Sami found an approach to my 13-year-old son right from the start. We had tried another psychologist before, but my son didn't connect with them. After discussing it with my son, we decided to start regular therapy with Sami until all current issues are resolved. My son now looks forward to the sessions with Sami and feels great afterward, in a wonderful and uplifted mood.
It’s too early to talk about major changes, as we are just at the beginning, but the fact that my son has become more cheerful and our relationship has warmed up is undeniable.
